Cold Room Space

Cold room space must be reserved by request in the PASS system or the Rapid Access Request Form and in the Beginning-of-Run Form.

Upon arriving, ask a beamline staff member to show you where your space is. The Biology cold rooms are located near X8-C and X25 on the light source floor and in Bld. 463 Main Biology.

There is a liquid nitrogen supply dewar at each of the beamlines. The beamline staff will keep it full for the filling of hand transfer dewars and shipping dewars. Please read our documentation regarding the safe handling of liquid nitrogen or ask one of the beamline staff for help prior to using the liquid nitrogen for the first time.

If the supply dewar is empty and there is no member of the beamline staff available to refill it for you, there is a small dewar filling station outside of the east rollup door that you may use to fill a hand transfer dewar. Please do not attempt to refill the large storage dewar.

Dry ice is available upon request via your beamtime request.
