Transferring data using ftp is possible but is sometimes slow. Make sure you understand the security restrictions both here and at your home computer system. If your data was collected at either x25 or x29, you are likely to find that you cannot successfully transfer that much data without an error. Please contact the staff about shipping your data in DVD format.

Out going ftp, telnet and other protocols must pass through proxies. There are two ftp options

  1. FTP through proxy
  2. Anonymous FTP
  3. Proxy Documentation
  4. How to set up an account on the SSH Gateway.
  5. Telnet off site is no longer available.

Anonymous FTP

Anonymous FTP allows putting your data onto the anonymous account and getting your directory when you get home. You have 72 hours before your data is automatically deleted.

      2. for user enter anonymous for password enter your e-mail.
      3. cd to the beamline directory and put your data directly there. We recommend you tar your files.
