The context at Brookhaven’s NSLS

• Five beamlines are being organized to serve users and share apparatus and personnel: X8-C, X12-B, X12-C, X25, and X26-C

• Funding comes roughly equally from DOE/OBER and NIH/RR

• We are working to achieve efficient data collection and rapid structure solving

• Many users are served.

• One interesting new use is the Proteomics project
