Undulator white beam calorimetry yields 300 Watt beam power on March 17, 2006

Calorimetry on the full-size white undulator beam yields an estimated x-ray beam power of about 300 Watts at an NSLS ring current of 230 mA at 2.8GeV. This power is about as expected from this MGU that will radiate much less total power than the wiggler it replaced (400 Watt), but at a higher power density. Use mouse-over to enlarge pictures
