| Beamline X25
exploits the high-flux radiation derived from a new 55-period hybrid
in-vacuum mini-gap undulator that replaced the beamline's wiggler in
January 2006. The MGU is the centerpiece of the ongoing X25 Upgrade
supported by the DOE Office
of Biological and Environmental Research and the NIH National Center of Research
Resources. Currently, the undulator beam is focused sagitally and vertically by a Pt-coated mirror. It is followed by a Si-111 double crystal monochromator that provides a broad range of 3-28 keV (0.4-4.1Å) x-rays with a resolution and a combined monchromator and undulator gap control suited for MAD experiments. |
